ABSTRACT

Use injections of illicit material to improve body contour is still a health problem in Mexico. Most commonly used are oily materials that in many patients may cause aesthetic and incapacitating functional complications. The case of a 32- year-old homosexual male patient is reported; he was injected with 80 cc of mineral oil in each mamma, which caused an important inflammatory reaction, growth, and severe ptosis of these. He was in apparent general good shape; thus, he was treated with bilateral subcutaneous mastectomy and free fullthickness nipple-areola complex graft. We consider that this pathology remains a current health problem that should alert health authorities to take preventive measures with regard to its administration.
