ABSTRACT

Rhytidectomy has changed with the time, since interventions very complexes and capable to provoke serious complications, up to the present modifications that allow practice it as an ambulatory procedure under local anesthesia and IV sedation. At the present time, the morbility is very low and the results are longer lasting. It is very important to recall shortly the history of this operation, as well as the development of the anatomical knowledges that paved the way up to the present status.
