ABSTRACT
In the literature, the anatomy of the ventricles has been described in different manners. This article describes the application of the anatomic-embryological concepts dividing it in three regions or zones: The inlet, trabecular zone and the outlet. The objective of the paper is to document for teaching purposes the anatomy from the beginning with these concepts, since today the common language among cardiologists has the tendency to classify the pathologic alterations to those three zones.
