ABSTRACT

The dental traumatisms are defined like an injury of extension and variable intensity, of accidental or intentional origin, that in these cases pursues like a fundamental premise the conservation of the dental tissues. The teeth traumatisms are perhaps one of the most dramatic accidents that occur to a person and its frequency in the Dental clinic is greater each day. Nowadays it is considered a global public health problem and in a future it will be the main reason to come to the clinic, searching for our services, due to the life changes in the population. There is a greater incidence of them in childhood and the adolescence, although the adults are not the exception, these traumas generate pain, mastication difficulties, diction problems and they even affect the psychological level for the aesthetic conditions that they produce. The treatment goes from the simplest to the hand of all general dentists until the ones who get involved in a multidisciplinary intervention according to the affected tissues. From the immediate and correct performance it will depend the evolution of the case and it will influence in the prognosis. It is presented a case of a dental traumatism with non complicated coronary fracture of the crown.
