Gastric outlet obstruction, Jodhpur’s disease.

ABSTRACT

The primary acquired idiopathic gastric outlet obstruction in children is known as Jodhpur’s disease. This entity has a recent history, since it was first described in 1997. From this time on, only 14 cases have been reported in the literature. We describe the case of a five-year-old patient with an acquired gastric outlet obstruction in which no underlying cause could be identified; therefore, it was categorized as Jodhpur’s disease. To our knowledge, this is the first case reported in the country. The objective is to present the first case report of Jodhpur’s disease in Mexico and communicate Sharma’s classification of gastric outlet obstruction in children.
