ABSTRACT

The nodular callosities due to posture habits are well circumscribed lesions with thickenned skin due to persistent pressure or friction on a cutáneous area. Histologically it shows a picture like chronic lichen simplex, with acanthosis and ortokeratosic hyperkeratosis and thickenned collagen fibers in a peculiar vertical distribution. We present a characteristic chart of that type in a 12-year-old male with lesions at the dorsum of his right foot, whit the habit to seat on and where, in adition, he suffered the friction of some sporting shoes used for an intensive sport activity. We stress the difficulties to modify the habits of the patients, that in our case resulted in the persistence of the lesion.
