ABSTRACT

The approach of pleural effusion should always be systematic and orderly, there are over 50 possible causes. We should take in mind the background in the medical record and imaging studies. The integration of a route with the features of effusion fluid is an essential tool for easy access in the diagnosis of effusion in order to obtain a rapid diagnosis and thus make decisions appropriate to the extension studies with appropriate procedures lead us to a diagnosis and optimal treatment.
