ABSTRACT
The Gorlin-Goltz syndrome or naevoid basal cell carcinoma syndrome was first reported in 1894 by Jarisch and White, and later described by Gorlin and Goltz in 1960. It is characterized by a triad of multiple keratocysts, multiple nevoid basal cell epitheliomas and skeletal anomalies. We present a series of seven cases from the Zacatecas General Hospital, which focuses on the treatment of the keratocysts by the Maxillofacial Surgery Department, and in their early diagnosis based on major and minor clinical criteria, resulting in a variable- expressivity gene causing this disorder.
