ABSTRACT

Esophageal carcinoma is a major cause of mortality since the time of diagnosis most patients have advanced disease. The most common symptoms are related to tumor size, as dysphagia and heartburn. We report the case of a 58 year old with back pain of short evolution, and in whom metastatic disease was evident in bones of the pelvis and lumbar region, with progressive deterioration until death. At autopsy an exophytic lesion corresponded to adenocarcinoma esophagus, columnar metaplasia and metastasis to multiple organs found.
