ABSTRACT

A total of 5 bibliographical references were reviewed with the aim of identifying the involvement of medical students in the Ten Years' War. The literature review identified 23 medical students, 3 of them graduated before the war ended, 8 reached high military ranks, 9 fell in combat and 3 were taken prisoner and shot. Medical students played an important role in the war against the Spanish colonization.
