ABSTRACT

A case study in six patients who were treated with CO2 laser in the Plastic Surgery service of Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital, those with acne scars, hypertrophic scars, tattoos, facial wrinkles, perioral and depressed scars was done with the aim of assessing their progress and aesthetic surgery outcome. Continuous mode CO2 laser ablation was performed and the depth was adapted according to the disease and the patient's skin type. All cases progressed successfully without occurrence of intraoperative or postoperative complications. The best result was obtained by patients with frontal wrinkles and hypertrophic scars; this approach was useful in all cases who underwent surgery with obvious aesthetic improvement.
