ABSTRACT

This is a clinical report of a 62 year old female with bilateral coxartrosis and dark urine, antecedent. During hip arthroplasty was detected brown spots spread in the articular cartilage, a sample of it was taken for histopathological analysis in which ochronothic arthritis was determined, based on macrophagos with granular pigmentation finding. No other clinical data was detected. The report has a bibliographic revision in which a typical triad is described: arthrosis of the weight bearing joints, alcaptonuria and dark pigmentation of the connective tissue. This is reported for its extraordinary frequency.
