Bladder neurofibromatosis: report of a case and review of the literature

ABSTRACT

Neurofibromatosis is a inherited disorder transmitted as a mendelian dominant. It is a disorder that affects the Schwann cells and fibroblasts. The genitourinary tract is rarely involved in NF1, it’s have been 80 cases reported until now. A 19 year old woman with a history of dysmenorrhea and NF1, with neurofibromatosis involving the urinary bladder, CT detected mass compressing the bladder, cystoscopy is performed finding intravesical lesions, biopsy is taken and confirms diagnosis by histopathology and immunostains tests.
