ABSTRACT

The Hospital General de México (HGM) has been careful not only be dedicated to the care of their patients cadres, has also been concerned with the training of teachers and researchers of excellence. In 1926, three services were opened in the HGM which housed respective specialties: cardiology, gastroenterology and urology. It is with Dr. Ignacio Chavez in the year of l937 when begins the development of postgraduate courses later in the early twentieth century gave a major boost to the creation and consolidation of specialties. Headed by Ignacio Chavez, Abraham Ayala Gonzalez and Aquilino Villanueva. In April 1942, doctors Gustavo Baz, the secretary of Health and Welfare, and Aquilino Villanueva, then director of the HGM seasoning founded the first hospital residence in our country, the formalization of researchers within the same doctors had been delayed, by the lack of a specific purpose, the difficulty of linking health institutions and educational institutions and the lack of specific frames of researchers promote research into medical specialties residents and constitute a “critical mass specific “to trigger the expansion of physicians-researchers. The authors of this study implemented in 2005 the Plus Program at the then Directorate General Teaching HGM, the objectives of this program were to incorporate new pedagogical teaching medicine techniques (based learning skills, problem-based learning and learning in evidence-based medicine) accompanied by the strengthening of three pillars in the graduate health institutions, programs Master of Science, Master of Hospital Administration and Masters in Education. Since 2009 to 2014 six generations were included in the Program of Master of Science in Health Degree of the IPN and four generations in the Program of Master In Medical Science with the UNAM. Between 2009 and 2012, 83 students were enrolled in these programs. The total number of student graduated in this period was 50 than means the 60.86% of in the terminal efficiency.
