ABSTRACT
The orthokeratinized odontogenic cyst is an unusual cyst development of the jaws, described in 1956 by Philipsen as a variant of odontogenickeratocyst (keratinizing odontogenic tumor) and later identified by Wright as an entirely separate entity which remains today a point of controversy. The case of a male patient aged 15 years, admitted to the Maxillofacial Surgery of our institution and diagnosed with an odontogenic orthokeratinized cyst is reported. To have an appropriate clinical route in terms of clinical diagnosis, imaging, and especially the result of the incisional biopsy is essential to diagnose and treat conditions that have a better prognosis with less invasive and aggressive procedures.
