ABSTRACT

The main objective of this study is the functional evaluation of internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the anterior disc displacement with or without reduction during open surgery, by using conscious endovenus sedation and local anesthesia in patient’s natural opening and closing movements, solving the problem with condylar plication or discoplasty, and checking the functional results of the disc during the same procedure is the most important, as the common use of general anesthesia is unable to achieve such a result.
