ABSTRACTSocial management is a new intervention strategy for social workers. The aim of this study was to generate a model of intervention for the Social Management Department at a Regional High Specialty Hospital. The intervention strategy was based on a fusion of diagnosis and goals. Organizational development process was used to diagnose and take action. The model projects the steps to be followed by the social management in scientific-operational composition and mainly emphasizes the theoretical-practical functionality. Models of social management have been formed with the operation: the theory has been made through practice. Previously, the communication structure in an institution was downward direction; the present model shows the need of upward, horizontal, and parallel communication.
