ABSTRACT
A library review was performed with the objective to emphasize the importance of the development of health promotion and education activities, besides, the paper of the school as an ideal place to promote health is evidenced, as well as the task of health promoters as a decisive join in health promotion in schools. MEDLINE, EBSCO, DOYMA, Academic GOOGLE data base, the Cuban literature about Medicine of the last ten years and other classics, localized in the National information system of Medical Sciences were used. In the historical-social model in which the contemporary Cuban society is developed, there is a political will to organize promotion and health education activities in schools. The applied programs within the health promoting schools can face great sanitary challenges of the updated world. In those schools the health promoter of each place play a relevant paper in the formation of habits and healthy behaviors in early stages of live.
