ABSTRACT

Introduction: with the population aging changes, take place in the epidemiological structure of the health-illness process of the old men, with more number of people carrying Not Transferable or Advanced Chronic Illnesses that will require in their evolution the application of Palliatives Cares, phase where the Bioehtics principles should be executed and applied even more carefully. Their rights are the same ones that any sick person has but in them, the principle of special protection has a special role to play, because to endow them from a maximum content to their rights, it is the only and last possibility to conserve their dignity like human beings, allowing them an appropriate symptoms control and a worthy death.
Objective: to revise the application of the medical ethics, in the elderly with Palliatives Cares approaches.
Conclusions: the Ethics in the palliative cares does not only worry about the illness, the pain or the information, but of the sick person, of the person that suffers and to who it is necessary to inform; not only about the death, but of the person that goes to die. When the patients claim understanding, comfort or relief, the professionals cannot respond using protocols or norms exclusively. To take care demands a commitment with the person and the human sensibility.
