ABSTRACT

Background: From a conceptualization of the current behavior of customers attendance to libraries and given the development of computer and communication technologies, this paper is aimed to set a strategic tone in order to solve the situation the National Library is facing in relation to attendance to its site.
Objectives: 1.To identify the causes dealing with to low attendance of customers to the Medical Library. 2. To design an action plan to achieve the attendance of potential customers to the library.
Methods: Theoretical methods such as the analysis and synthesis and documentary revision. Empirical methods and implementation of two surveys with mathematical analysis and brainstorming.
Findings: It is determined that barriers provoking low attendance of customers are technology, communication, human factors, time management, training and geographic barriers, mainly communicational factors that impede the expected results.
