Management of
rhinophyma with radiofrequency decortication (Ellman-Surgitron)

ABSTRACT

A 70-year-old man presented with a severe case of rhinophyma. The mass was widely excised using radiosurgery. The patient had never agreed to the surgical procedure he was offered before by another specialist, like a frontal flap for total reconstruction of the nose, allowing the total removal of the affected nasal skin and soft tissue. Using excision with radiosurgery, the patient requires minimal postoperative care. Radiosurgery did provide in this case a very satisfactory cosmetic result.
