ABSTRACTThe study of dysphonia in adolescents and the application of questionnaires to measure the perception of this health problem have relevance today. A descriptive cross-sectional investigation was conducted to evaluate the auto perception of risk factors associated to dysphonia in adolescents from "Martha Abreu de Estévez" Policlinic of Santa Clara city, Villa Clara Province, in the period from January to December 2014. The information was obtained through a questionnaire. The selection of adolescents was made by two-stage cluster sampling with proportional probabilities. Of the 33 offices of the health area, with 2 012 adolescents were selected 11 and then 108 teenagers were selected by simple random sampling. The appearance and content validation was performed by experts and the criterion of Moriyama was used. Data were processed using SPSS version 19 and Epidat 3. Statistical methods of absolute and relative frequencies were used. The results were presented in text, statistical tables and figures. There was predominance of males and in the age group of 15 years, prevailed the unfinished secondary schooling and extrovert personality, the main symptom was the presence of allergy, the risk factor that most influenced was sleeping with a fan and degree of perception was low in unfinished secondary schooling.
