ABSTRACT

Introduction: the second stage of study cuanticualitativo, descriptive, in the school of Technology of the Health, from October 2014 until January 2015, the mammography allows the precocious detection and the diagnosis of the breast cancer, being necessary the diagnosis of the professional performence of the technologists in Imagenology, in charge of the realization of this study.
Objective: to characterize the current state of the preparation of the technologists in Imagenology that carry out the mammography techniques in the services of Imagenology of the Havana.
Material and methods: theoretical methods were used in order to carry out the analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction and systematizing, of literature of the national environment on the thematic one related in order to the investigation. As empiric method it was applied, it proves from entrance acting to the graduate, applied 47 technologists in Imagenology of the sample.
Results: The execution of the objective constitutes one of the bases for the design of the strategy, you could identify that alone 41,1%, they demonstrate knowledge, capacity and values, during the application of the techniques in mammography.
Discussion: you achieve the identification of the necessities cognitive, for the formation and obtaining of images in mammography and the improvement of their professional performance.
Conclusions: The inadequacies of the professional performance of the technologists in Imagenology are sustained in the lack of abilities for the application of scientific methods, in the lack of domain of the special and specific techniques, and the terminology appropriate.
