ABSTRACT

In October 2015 took place the first meeting of the ISSSTE Genomic Medicine: Progress and Prospects, where they unveiled the current situation of the Laboratory of Genomic Medicine in the Hospital Regional Lic. Adolfo López Mateos. Our working group over the years has developed health research projects that meet the current needs of the Mexican population and specifically our patients, to apply this knowledge to clinical practice, using various strategies such as: study participation environment and genes; to identify risk factors; obtaining individual genetic information to improve risk prediction of the disease or its complications, and pharmacogenomics. A semblance of the presentation made at that meeting is given.
