ABSTRACT
The latest advancements in technology in the past 20 years of the XX century in the areas of Informatics, Engineering, Medicine, Molecular Biology and Genetics as well as in the Military Media; has allowed the development of the necessary tools for the creation of microcameras, high resolution video systems, the beginnings of the third dimension images, simulators and virtual reality; robotics applied to medicine and microrobotics, the creation of intelligent operating rooms, and the appearance of telepresence and nanotechnology. All previously mentioned with the main purpose of offering more dexterity to medical doctors and surgeons, diminish the operating times and diminish the pain to a maximum with a faster recuperation. Mexico has had a great participation in these events as in Endoscopic surgery and continues to be at the highest level. In this New Millennium thanks to the previous advancements, it has been possible to do the first transatlantic surgery on a female patient 68 years old with cholecistitis, operating the patient from New York, United States of America while the patient being in Strasburg, France; 7,000 kilometers of distance.
