To the Editor:

We read with interest the recent article by Barreto, et al. evaluating the risk factors for acute kidney injury (AKI) and 30-day mortality after liver transplantation (LT) in a single-center retrospective cohort study. They showed that viral hepatitis, longer warm ischemia time and high levels of serum lactate were risk factors for AKI.
