ABSTRACT

The update of the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines presents the changes in recommendations for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care based on International Consensus on Resuscitation Science conducted by researchers from International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation Task Forces, the invited participants and public comments in meetings and through the website: Scientific Evidence Evaluation and Review System. To answer 21 clinical questions about priority issues of pediatric resuscitation, selected for being controversial, by the existence of gaps in knowledge or for the emergence of new scientific evidence, the members of the Pediatric Task Force -applying the evidence review system: Grading of recommendations Assessment Development and Evaluation and supported by information specialists- conducted systematic reviews for relevant information and whenever possible, consensus-based treatment recommendations were created designated as strong or weak. This document includes a summary of the assessment procedure of international scientific literature and the changes in the guidelines of the American Heart Association arising from that review.
