ABSTRACT

Gestational diabetes mellitus is an obstetric syndrome, in which the genetic predisposition of the patient is interspersed with endocrine and metabolic disorders of pregnancy to produce insulin resistance, which is associated with increased maternal and obstetric risks. Because of this, it is fundamental to do a strict glycemic control, through interventions in lifestyle and proper pharmacological treatment according to the needs of each patient.
