ABSTRACT

The present reflection is based on the consideration of Bioethics as one promoting discipline for the dialogue among the different branches of science, within the moral value framework of the occidental culture. The core of this article is the ethical use of antidepressant substances regarding existential issued rather than a therapeutic related use. Our objective is to review the foIlowing aspects: a. An anthropological sight. Man as a lacking entity. b. The purposes of medicine and the use of psycho­tropics in various situations. c. The abuse of medical substances a solution to common life problems. After completing the analysis, a proposal on how to handle sadness in a non medical way, admitting human limitations, wiIl arise.
