ABSTRACT

Spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage is the extravasation of blood into the retroperitoneal space without any external trauma, urologic surgery or endovascular manipulation. It is a rare disease involving a diagnostic challenge. Diagnosis should be suspected to act in time to ensure a more rational therapy, avoiding exploratory laparotomy or unnecessary nephrectomies.
