ABSTRACT

Leptospira needs certain environmental conditions to live, which favor its permanence in its natural habit and make it possible, like in the case of L. interrogans, to find a host (human or animal) where it can multiply and maintain constant its biological cycle in natural conditions. Environmental factors have great influence in the appearance of the disease. Therefore, climatic factors, soil types, pH, temperature and drainage are considered important in the form of presentation of this disease. The purpose of this article is to increase knowledge on the influence of climatic factors in the presentation of patients with leptospirosis.
