Therapeutic effectiveness of the platform Cobs in the quality of life of patient with stroke

ABSTRACT

Objective: to evaluate therapeutic effectiveness of the Cobs platform in the quality of life of patient with Illness cerebrovascular.
Method: a prospective study was carried out explanatory, experimental, longitudinal and applied all the patients with cerebrovascular illness entered consecutively in the service of cerebral lesion in the Julio Diaz hospital from September 2012 to December 2014. The sample belonged to 50 patients; they were distributed in-group study and group control applying the simple aleatory method. Rehabilitation program was used according to protocol of performance of the service for the group control and to the patients of the group study they were added the program of training with Cobs platform. Were applied the neurologic scales and the functional independence to measure disability and the ECVI-38 for quality of life to the beginning and the final.
Results: prevailed for both groups; the sex femenine 72 % and the group of ages 60-69 with 38 %. The neurologic scales in the group A showed a stocking of 6 and the group B from 9 to the end of the treatment. At the end, the functional independence scale with the degree of without help in 21 patients (group A) and 11 (group B). The rehabilitative treatment the domain more beneficiary was the sociofamiliar operation with standard deviation 8,64.
Conclusions: the effectiveness of the Cobs platform was satisfactory and the quality of the patient's life with hemiplegia for ictus improved.
