Vilma Espin Guillois: A woman who is a symbol of the people

ABSTRACT

The trajectory of the Cuban woman adopts distinctive traits in each historical epoch, an expression of the attitude assumed in social behalf. It is honored the life and work of Vilma Lucila Espín Buillois because she occuies an exceptional space in the history of the country. It was performed a review of updated bibliographic sources that allowed to select 13 illustrative references of the topic, with the aim of characterizing the path that identifies Vilma as a symbol of the country. As a theoretical method it was used the historical- biographical, by applying the analysis- synthesis, induction- deduction and historical -logical approach. The research helps us understand the principles that characterize the main social contributions and the value of the legacy of her thought and behavior to the Cuban model of medical science professionals.
