ABSTRACT
Congenital diaphragmatic hernias are the result of a disorder in embryogenesis, they occur in 1 of every 3,000 live births and are usually diagnosed in prenatal care during pregnancy. The following article is the description of an unusual presentation of a congenital diaphragmatic hernia in a 17 years old male, who was diagnosed by presenting with chest pain. The aim of this paper is to propose a standardized management consisting of laparoscopic repair of the diaphragmatic defect with primary closure with nonabsorbable suture and mesh placement over the defect. In addition it is intended to present the specific surgical technique, postoperative monitoring and review of the literature.REFERENCES
