ABSTRACT
Anorectum diseases are common to observe in
the first level of care, is usually the general practitioner's
office where the patient consulted primarily
about their condition. It is important to
know by primary care physicians about the basics
of the most common queries in proctology
and clinical entities, including its etiology, pathophysiology
and treatment, but mainly clinical
diagnosis and recognition of time it is necessary
to refer a patient with anorectal at a more specialized
level condition. The following article
contains a review of the current evidence on the
aspects to be considered in the diagnosis and
management of proctologic disease, this in order
to optimize the care provided in the first levels of
health.
