ABSTRACT

Acute appendicitis and the rupture of a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst are diseases that present as an acute abdomen and represent a life-threatening diagnosis if not treated promptly. Both are treated by urgent surgical intervention and can be misdiagnosed before surgery.
