Early correction of transposition of the great vessels: A case report and literature review

ABSTRACT

Transposition of the great vessels (TGV) is a pathology characterized by a discordancy on the ventricle-artery connection and corresponds to 7-8 % of all congenital pathologies, 20% of cases associated to interventricular communication. The Janene procedure is performed virtually by every heart surgeon globally. It is presented a case of a male newborn, with no background of importance, post-fetal early detection of congenital cardiopathy, and diagnosed with TGV, being surgically intervened with the Jatene procedure and a favorable evolution.
