ABSTRACT

This articles´ main objective is to identify the main causes of lower urinary tract injury, their clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment. Urologic trauma is infrequent but when present has important repercussions y morbidity and mortality. Bladder injuries are associated with pelvis fracture and its characteristic clinical sign is hematuria. There are different diagnostic approaches such as cystography, laparotomy and CT scan. Management depends on the site of injury. Urethral injuries are most likely to appear in men with pelvic fracture. The gold standard for diagnosis is urography and management depends on the site of injury
