Autogenous tooth transplantation. A review of the literature and presentation of two cases

ABSTRACT

Autogenous tooth transplantation is defined as the movement of a tooth from its socket to a post-extraction or surgically created socket in the same individual. Today, by following appropriate selection criteria and a refined surgical technique, this procedure can prove to be an ideal therapeutic alternative in certain patients. Success rates have increased over time, reaching as high as 90%. In this article, we present two cases of successful autogenous tooth transplantation and a review of the indications, contraindications, and success criteria associated with these.
