ABSTRACT

Background: Genus Cedecea belong to Enterobacteriaceae family. There are fewer of 40 reports of infectious disease caused by C. davisae, C. lapagei and C. neteri. Case report: 67 years old female with second degree burns on 20% of body surface, with bronchial aspirate and blood cultures positives for Cedecea lapagei, requiring 18 days in ICU management. Conclusions: Infections caused by Cedecea are very rare, its transmission is through fecal contamination and these infections appeared in immunocompromised patients. No cases informed in Mexico.
