ABSTRACT

Background: Reviewing the experience about 3 years; using laparoscopic cholecystectomy to cirrhotic patients with gallstone disease. From: Medical Center. IMSS-Puebla. Method: We reviewing the clinic records of 5 patients that underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We evaluated age, sex, concomitant disease, child class, cirrhosis cause, ultrasound diagnosis, intraoperative liver appearance, operative time, transfusions, complications, rehabilitation, hospital stay and histologic diagnosis. Results: 4 patients were female, promedy age was 54 years; only 1 was male, of 36 years. Cirrhosis cause in 3 patients was viral, 1 of autoimmune type and 1 of nutritional-alcohol type. Concomitant disease likes diabetes mellitus in 1 patient and arterial hypertension in other one. 3 Child A patients, 1 Child B patient and 1 Child C patient. The gallstone disease was chronic; all were programmed surgery; operative time promedy was 100 minutes; there weren’t trans or postoperative complications, and no conversion. Hospital stay promedy was 4 days. Conclusions: The laparoscopic cholecystectomy in cirrhotic patients can be a safely method in compensated patients.
