ABSTRACTA bibliographic review of the various morphological changes that appear in the study of peripheral film (peripheral smear or peripheral blood smear) in viral diseases is carried out. The investigation begins with alterations in the normal morphology of leukocytes in this group of pathologies, especially reactive lymphocytes. In addition, we present a brief description of some viral diseases that present similar peripheral blood changes, some of which show certain particular characteristics; the importance of the study of peripheral blood smears in this kind of diseases is emphasized.
