Basic Audit Management System in Occupational Safety and Health in 102 Ecuadorian companies

ABSTRACT

This study presents the results from audits (basic evaluation) on the Management System in Occupational Safety and Health in 102 Ecuadorian companies, conducted by the Risk Prevention Unit MetroPrevent (MetroAmbulat SA) in the period of the second half of 2013 and the first half of 2014. A survey based on Resolution Nº CD 333 (2010) 'Audit System of Occupational Risks' of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) was fabricated, where there are indicated the technical and legal requirements for the Ecuadorian companies, and to know the percentage of efficiency index. A percentage descriptive analysis of the information collected was made through a distribution for each of the variables under study. From the results and analysis of the data collected it was mainly observed that 90.2% of companies have a system safety management and occupational health as unsatisfactory. 74.5% of companies are in a poor or regular in compliance with legal technical requirements relating to the administrative management, 77.5% poor or regular administrative management, 72.5% poor or regular human talent management, and basic operating procedures 77.5% as poor or regular.
