ABSTRACTIntroduction: the quality of human resources training in health depends on the quality of the academic faculty. Therefore, choosing the professors requires utmost attention in our university.
Objective: to explore the knowledge about the opposition exercise as possessed by the examining board members for teaching categories that have an influence on their performance.
Methods: an anonymous survey was conducted about the opposition exercise on examining board members for teaching categories prior to the exercise per se for the second semester of the academic year 2014-2015.
Results: In the setting studied, the professors surveyed have insufficient knowledge about the opposition exercise for the promotion of teaching categories and the documents to guide the process.
Conclusions: the professors who are part of the examining boards for teaching categories should increase their methodological training in this regard and strengthen it before the teaching categorization process.
