ABSTRACT

Food allergy is defined as an adverse reaction derived from a specific immune response produced by exposure of certain foods. Eosinophilic colitis is a manifestation of food allergy commonly associated, but some studies also report association with seasonal type allergy; the cause is unknown, the clinical presentation is varied and non-specific and depends on the level of eosinophilic infiltration in the intestinal wall. Diagnosis includes histopathological infiltration of more than 20 eosinophils per field in colon. We exposed a case of a patient with atypical gastrointestinal manifestations associated to respiratory and skin allergy with aeroallergens sensitization.
