ABSTRACT

Background. The renal artery aneurysm is diagnosed in 0.015% to 1% of the general population. Is the second most common visceral artery aneurysm after splenic artery aneurysm and before common hepatic artery aneurysm.
Case report. A 56 year-old female who started his condition with dysuria and recurrent urinary tract infections. Angio-CT and angiography is performed finding an aneurysm of 13 mm. Retroperitoneal approach was performed through a subcostal incision and aneurysmorrhaphy with aneurysm plication without evidence of ischemic changes in the kidney during the perioperative period.
Conclusions. Aneurysms of the renal artery can be treated by open or endovascular repair, if it is decided to open surgery can be treated with excision with primary repair, patch angioplasty using autologous or prosthetic material and plication of the aneurysm of up to 1 cm diameter.
