Methodology for care to early adolescence with ethyl consumption or vulnerable to this behavior

ABSTRACT

Introduction: reducing alcohol consumption is a worldwide challenge and especially in the region of the Americas. In Cuba, the role of family doctor and pediatrician it has not include specific care to early adolescence with this risky behavior.
Objective: to elaborate a methodology to diagnose the behavior of alcohol consumption in early adolescence and criteria of care, and based on this, develop a plan of action with the participation of the family doctor, pediatrician and other determinants of health.
Methods: a developmental research work was performed that allowed creating a methodology to be applied in two stages: one diagnostic and the other as intervention design. In the first phase the nominal group technique and four questionnaires were used, and in the second, develop an action plan with the participation of the family doctor, pediatrician and other determinants of health.
Results: the steps for the development of the methodology in its two stages were presented, as well as the research instruments used and the structure of the proper methodology.
Conclusions: a methodology to encourage attention to early adolescence with ethyl consumption or vulnerable to such behavior involving family doctor and pediatrician in close coordination with the determinants of health was proposed: family, school, the community and the peer group.
