ABSTRACT

Psychotherapy has been reformulated as various positions ranging from the individual to the familial and intrapsychic and interactional. Salvador Minuchin is a pioneer in the development of structural family therapy school proposing specific procedures to propose avenues for change, with the staging of them. In the present work proposes a variation of this technique called complementary staging which aims to trace cyber complementarities of social norms that frame the symptoms. The one case in which you can see the impact of this procedure on a 13 year old diagnosed with depression and her mother, who went to 4 sessions in which the therapeutic objective analysis is reached. We concluded that this procedure produces a hybrid pattern that disturbs the ecology of the system by providing a self-corrective action based on the difference and also allows the therapist to focus on the complaint while intervening on the family structure.
