ABSTRACT

One of the primary aims of Buco Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Faculty of Dentistry, Universityofthe Republic ( UdelaR), Montevideo Uruguay, is providing core to patients presenting to this department befare or after being operated on by the oncosurgicol. A muhidisciplinory group consists ofthe members ofthe international RED" Altemotive Methods for the Preservation of Oral Health', estoblish ing the diagnosis and prosthetic treatment plons for canear potients seeking ottention to orol rehabilitation. Patientwas diognosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, located in the Mandibular right pterygopalatine bronch, in which the muhidisciplinory team determinad to moke o prosthesis immediote guidance, which was ploced in the surgical procedure, in arder to maintain stability mandibular once the tumor removal. lt is vital and im portont the placement of this prosthesis, sin ce its objective is to mointain the anatomical strudures in the corred position, preventing the collapse of tissues ond the diversion of the dental midline and bone, os withoutth is guide, there o re severe temporomandibular joint disorders mandibular and surrounding musculatura.
