ABSTRACT

Biosafety measures are designed to reduce the risk of transmission of microorganisms from recognized or unrecognized sources of infection in dental procedures associated with the contamination of materials, apparatus, and/or instruments. One reemerging microorganism is Mycobacterium abscessus, which is an environmental bacterium that can cause serious health problems and therefore needs to be controlled and prevented.
